Become a partner school

The Museum Berlin-Karlshorst has currently signed cooperation agreements with three Berlin schools, thus consolidating future collaboration.

In addition to the Merian School (ISS) in the Treptow-Köpenick district, further agreements have been concluded with the Hans-und-Hilde-Coppi-Gymnasium and the Schule am Tierpark, both in the Lichtenberg district.

As part of the cooperation, the history courses of these schools visit the Museum Berlin-Karlshorst. They have the opportunity to experience history directly at the historical site of the surrender of the German Wehrmacht. Numerous exhibits from the permanent exhibition serve as source material for the pupils to deal with the topic of the German war of extermination against the Soviet Union. The look at different cultures of remembrance promotes a critical awareness of history.

The museum’s education department prepares the visit together with the heads of the schools.

This is a pilot project – after four years the cooperation will be evaluated.

We are looking forward to further cooperations, also abroad!
